Summer 2022 has come and gone, the summer festival season is over and it’s time for gig season to commence. Off the back of the incredible sell out headline show at the HMV Empire, Candid were back in the 2nd city and ready to give a sold out Birmingham crowd the same headline treatment.

A bunch of Birmingham’s brightest and best had been handpicked to support, including Paradise Circus. “We were here watching a show and 9 gigs later we are playing here!” Exclaimed excited frontman David. They really made made the most of it, treating the crowd to an exciting back catalogue of indie tunes, including a play of freshly released single “Cascade”.

Up next came Chasers who kept the party going with tight rhythmic indie. A cheeky cover of Arctic Monkeys classic “Brianstorm” not only showed off their talents but had the entire crowd singing along. I’m sure it won’t be long before they have the crowd singing along to their own tunes as well.

With their name adorned in stunning lights behind them, Candid wasted no time smashing through tracks and getting the crowd moshing.

Even without an album to their name, the strong foundation of indie anthems they have built up over the past few years has the audience greeting tracks such as “Concrete Jungle” and “Where Do We Go?” like old classics.
Walking into the room you could have mistaken the band for seasoned veterans, the whole show slick from start to finish. Big single “Wasted Time” had the floor bouncing and helped bring the show to a climatic end.
Coventry headliners, Birmingham headliners, Candid keep proving themselves as an act not to miss.
