Not many artists get a proper second wind in their career. Ever since his resurgence back in 2013, brought to life by the frnch robots Daft Punk, Nile Rodger’s has been riding high. A crowd of young, old, and everyone in between gathered at The Halls in Wolverhampton for a celebration of his timeless music.

After a warmup DJ set Nile and the band promptly entered the stage. Before launching into any music, he recalled the venue about one of his earliest gigs, which happened to be at a military base in Wolverhampton.
After that introduction, the hits never stopped. Kicking off with a medley of some of Chic’s biggest hits: “Le Freak”, “Everybody Dance”, “Dance,Dance,Dance” and “I Want Your Love”. It was an incredible start to the show and had the entire venue dancing.

Not content with just playing the Chic classics, Nile and the band ran through several songs that he had produced over the years. Ranging from 80’s classics such as Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” to modern classics including Beyoncé’s “CUFF IT”. There wasn’t a dull moment, and it highlighted the incredible back catalogue he has built up across his almost 60 year career.
The attention turned back to Chic for the final few tracks, a joyous “Good Times” even included a special guest appearance from local legend Beverley Knight to round off the evening. Nile had bought the ultimate party to Wolverhampton.
